Become A Pathways Adviser

AdviseVA seeks service-minded, motivated young professionals to serve as Pathways Advisers in our partner high schools. For general questions contact Assistant Director Ashmore Hyndman III.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree obtained between 2023 and 2026 
  • Ability and willingness to relocate to various locations across the Commonwealth 
  • Ability and willingness to work hours that coincide with a typical school day for educators, as well as some night and weekend hours 

Term of service:

  • Two years; this includes a multiple-week pre-training program the summer before service begins.

Annual Compensation:

Bi-weekly pay of $1,560 - $1,640 ($39,000 – 41,000 annual rate, pending final budget approvals)

$5,169 Health Insurance included (approximate)

$51,564 – 53,564 Total compensation package*

*Total compensation package is determined by the start date. Pathways advisers who begin on the scheduled start date in July will receive 25 bi-weekly payments totaling $39,000 - $41,000. Pathways advisers who begin later in the program year will receive bi-weekly payments of the same amount over fewer pay periods, respectively.

Selection Process Timeline For Positions with the 2026-2028 Adviser Cohort

  • Step 1: Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Qualified candidates will be invited to a virtual first-round interview.
  • Step 2: After the first-round interview, selected candidates will be invited to an interview with representatives from our open partner schools.
